A Department ID is the sequence of numbers that identifies a specific campus department, program, or entity. Historically known as UDDS, which stands for Unit, Division, Department, Sub-department. For example: SMPH would be: 53XXXX, where "53" is SMPH and "XXXX" are the four numbers that identify the specific department, program, project, or other administrative entity.
Three digit code that tells us the source of the money. Common Funds are 233, 150, and 144.
Project numbers identify the spending account where expenses will be posted. Some funding strings have no project component, like departmental 101- and 136- funding.
A one digit alpha or numerical value identifying the activity type of the transaction. 2=Instruction, 4=Research, and 5=Public Service.
