The Software Development and Informatics (SDI) group provides technical applications to advance the administrative, educational, and research missions of the Department of Medicine. Our team is made up of experts in the fields of software development, bioinformatics, and database administration.
Supporting Research
The intersection of different types of data is where the answers to many scientific questions may be found. To enable the Department of Medicine’s researchers to ask innovative questions and obtain actionable answers, we develop secure technical tools for data management, visualization, and analysis.
Consulting services are available to assist in needs analysis and budget for inclusion in research grants applications. Contact Adam Halstead: agwhalst@medicine.wisc.edu
Supporting Administration
A critical part of information management is assurance of information quality and security. Amongst other software services, we build and maintain data warehouses for the Department of Medicine’s administrative needs. The SDI group has developed and supports the Central Accounts Tracking Tool (CATT) for the Department of Medicine Office of Financial Services.
